Tribal Warfare is intense, energetic, and exciting; a driving piece with gutsy yet playful rhythmic variety. This title is also available for string trio. After a brief slow introduction, the heavily accented dance tune begins, and is eventually tossed in fragments to all the instruments. Tune ornaments and constant eighth notes complete the ‘tribal’ fee. Pizzicatti and lyrical sections contrast with the driving melody, which re-enters dramatically near the end. Cross rhythms and rhythmically altered accompaniment patterns keep players on their toes. The original artwork that appears on the front cover was painted specifically about Tribal Warfare.
